UBA Launches Pan-African Clean-Up Initiative for Sustainability

UBA Plc initiated a Pan-African environmental clean-up initiative, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and community development. This event coincided with the 60th birthday of UBA's Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Olive Alawuba.

The clean-up involved thousands of employees across UBA's operations in 20 African countries, including simultaneous activities in Lagos, Accra, Nairobi, and Dakar. The theme of the initiative was "Power Within," focusing on teamwork and creative community service.

Alawuba highlighted the importance of corporate success being linked to positive social and environmental impact. The event featured various activities, including spin bike sessions and fitness challenges, promoting employee well-being.

Alero Ladipo, UBA's Group Head of Market Corporate Communications, noted that the program reflects the bank's holistic approach to employee welfare and sustainable development, emphasizing that UBA's people are at the heart of its operations.
