UBA Foundation Educates Lagos Students on Climate Change

UBA Foundation conducted an educational program for students at King's College CM Grammar School in Bariga, Lagos, focusing on climate change as part of its activities to mark World Environment Day 2026. Bola Atta, the Managing Director and CEO of UBA Foundation, described the initiative as a strategic investment in the future, emphasizing the importance of educating young people about environmental issues.

The program encourages the next generation to embrace sustainable practices that will contribute to healthier communities and a better future. Atta noted that the initiative coincides with a time of rapid urbanization, which is reducing green spaces in Nigerian cities, highlighting the need for environmental restoration efforts.

UBA's Group Chief Risk Officer, Awel Ajibola, underscored the importance of proactive environmental stewardship to address climate-related risks. This initiative is part of UBA Group's broader commitment to environmental social governance (ESG) principles.
