UBA Denies Tony Elumelu Divorce Rumors, Confirms Arrests

United Bank for Africa (UBA) has officially debunked rumors circulating on social media regarding the alleged divorce of its Group Chairman, Tony Elumelu. The bank described these claims as false and malicious, aimed at misleading the public and damaging its reputation.

A formal statement was issued by Alero Ladipo, UBA's Group Head of Brand and Marketing Corporate Communications, warning individuals disseminating this content to cease immediately or face legal consequences. UBA disclosed that law enforcement authorities have already begun actions against the matter, resulting in the arrest of three individuals: Kingslei Akunemeih, Chigozi Success Ihebom, and John Surpruchi Nwanoru, who are allegedly linked to the creation and spread of this false information.

The bank emphasized its commitment to safeguarding its corporate reputation and the integrity of its leadership, stating it will pursue all legal avenues to address defamation and misinformation, particularly in the digital space.
