UBEC and DLN Partner to Distribute 47M Devices for Education Transformation

The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and Digital Learning Network (DLN) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to distribute 47 million laptops and tablets to students and teachers in Nigeria. The initiative aims to enhance access to quality education, particularly in primary and junior secondary schools, including remote areas.

The MoU involves a US-based corporation working with financial institutions like Deloitte, UBA, Zenith Bank, and the National Credit Guarantee Company to fully fund the project. UBEC's Executive Secretary, Aisha Garba, emphasized the transformative impact of the project on learning.

This partnership represents a significant educational technology initiative globally, with detailed plans outlined in the MoU for the comprehensive National Digital Education Transformation Project.
