Urgent Action Needed to End Benue Killings, Says Ugbor

Hon. Terseer Ugbor, a representative for Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency, has raised an alarm regarding the escalating violence in Benue State, specifically in the Jato Aka community of Kwande Local Government Area, where 12 individuals were killed.

During his visit to assess the situation, Ugbor met with community residents and traditional leaders, expressing that the violence has reached a critical level, directly impacting his constituency. He warned that the attacks are occurring without justification, making it impossible for farmers to tend to their lands safely.

Despite the presence of security personnel, Ugbor lamented that the violence continues unabated, displacing families and uprooting children. He criticized the current security strategy, suggesting that soldiers should be stationed in the area to maintain peace rather than merely repel insurgents.

Ugbor emphasized the urgent need for effective action to address the ongoing violence that has plagued the region for 15 years.
