UK Opens Applications for 2026 Chevening Scholarships

The United Kingdom has announced the opening of applications for the 2026/2027 Chevening Scholarships, which will be accepted from Tuesday, August 4, until October 6, 2026. Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organizations, the Chevening Scholarship program offers fully funded one-year master’s degree programs at UK universities.

Established in 1983, it targets emerging leaders with the potential to drive positive change in their countries. Emma Hennessey, Head of the Scholarships Unit at FCDO, encouraged eligible candidates to apply, emphasizing the program's commitment to diversity and inclusion, particularly from under-represented groups.

Successful applicants will be selected based on academic achievements, leadership potential, and commitment to making a lasting impact. British Deputy High Commissioner in Lagos, Jonny Baxter, described the scholarship as more than an academic opportunity, highlighting the lifelong connections and skills gained.
