UK Opens Applications for 2026 Chevening Scholarships

The UK Government has announced that applications for the 2026 Chevening Scholarship will open on August 4, 2026, and close on October 6, 2026. This scholarship offers Nigerians and other eligible candidates the chance to pursue a fully funded one-year master’s degree at universities across the UK.

The programme, managed by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, targets professionals demonstrating leadership potential and a commitment to positive community change. The scholarship covers tuition fees, living expenses, travel costs, and provides access to a global professional network.

Established in 1983, the Chevening Scholarship has supported over 60,000 individuals from more than 140 countries. Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria, including strong leadership skills and a commitment to sustainable development.

The application process includes filling out personal information, selecting courses, and submitting essays by the deadline. Interviews for successful candidates will occur in March-April 2027, with studies beginning in September/October 2027.
