UK Implements Security Measures for Tinubu's Visit

The United Kingdom has implemented road closures and no-fly zones in preparation for Nigerian President Bola Tinubu's state visit, scheduled for March 18, 2024. Accompanied by his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, the visit will be hosted by King Charles III at Windsor Castle.

The Thames Valley Police announced that airspace restrictions will be in place from 7 AM to 11:59 PM on the day of the visit, as part of a broader security operation. Chief Superintendent Adrian Hall emphasized that these measures are crucial for maintaining safety during the event.

The police will deploy a significant number of officers, including armed units and specialist capabilities, alongside neighborhood policing resources. Additional security measures include an extensive closed-circuit television network and hostile vehicle mitigation barriers.

The police have warned that any breach of these restrictions will be treated as a criminal offense, leading to potential arrests.
