UK Exempts Certain Countries from Student Visa Fund Proof

The UK government has officially published a list of nationalities exempt from the requirement to show proof of funds when applying for a Student visa. According to the guidance, applicants generally need to demonstrate their ability to support themselves while studying in the UK.

However, citizens from Botswana, Tunisia, and Mauritius are automatically exempt from this requirement. Additionally, the UK government recognizes a broader group of nationalities under the "differential evidence requirement," which includes British nationals overseas.

Despite being on the exempt list, applicants from these countries may still be contacted by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) after submitting their application to provide financial evidence before a final decision is made. The guidance clarifies that any such request will come directly from UKVI following the application submission, rather than being a prerequisite.
