UK Court Orders Deportation of Nigerian Man for Rape

Qudu Ajeyemi, a 27-year-old Nigerian man, has been sentenced to five years and six months in prison after being found guilty of attempted rape and sexual assault at Hull Crown Court. The court also imposed a seven-year restraining order and a lifetime deportation order, which will take effect upon the completion of his prison sentence.

The case stemmed from an incident in February 2023, where Ajeyemi allegedly made unwanted sexual advances toward a woman who believed he was helping her. Despite her repeated rejections, he attempted to rape her.

The victim reported the incident to the police in March 2023, providing recorded conversations with Ajeyemi as evidence. Detective Sergeant Ethan Anderson praised the victim's courage in reporting the crime, emphasizing the emotional impact of the case and the importance of holding offenders accountable.
