Nigerian Man Sentenced to Prison, Ordered Deported

Qudu Ajeyemi, a 27-year-old Nigerian man, was sentenced to five years and six months in prison for attempted rape and sexual assault following a trial at Hull Crown Court that concluded on May 26, 2026. The court ordered his deportation from the United Kingdom upon the completion of his prison term.

The incidents occurred in February 2023 when the victim, who knew Ajeyemi by the nickname "Spartan," reported that he made unwanted sexual advances towards her while pretending to assist her friend. Despite her repeated rejections, Ajeyemi allegedly attempted to rape her.

The victim reported the incident to the police in March 2023, providing recorded conversations where Ajeyemi apologized for his actions. Detective Sergeant Ethan Anderson of Humberside Police commended the victim for her bravery in pursuing the case, highlighting the emotional impact of the incident and the importance of reporting such crimes.
