Nigerian Man Sentenced for Sexual Assault in London

Obinwa Obichukwu, aged 45, was sentenced to two years in prison on July 21 at Inner London Crown Court after being found guilty of two counts of sexual assault in January. The incidents occurred on August 20, 2023, at Euston railway station in London, where he approached a woman, asked about her music, and attempted to engage her in conversation.

He then sexually assaulted her at the station entrance and again near the ticket barriers after following her. The victim managed to escape and reported the assault.

The British Transport Police arrested Obichukwu at his home, with the victim's testimony and CCTV evidence leading to the charges. In addition to his prison sentence, the court imposed a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and mandated that he remain on the UK sex offenders register for 10 years.

Detective Constable Daniel Burke described Obichukwu as a "sexual predator" who targeted a lone woman.
