Man Charged in London Stabbing of Jewish Men

Essa Suleiman, a 45-year-old man, has been charged by the Metropolitan Police with three counts of attempted murder and one count of possessing a blade in a public place following the stabbing of two Jewish men in Golders Green, London. The attacks occurred in broad daylight and were declared a terrorist incident, prompting a counter-terrorism investigation.

The victims, aged 76 and 34, were treated for stab wounds, with the 34-year-old released from the hospital while the 76-year-old remains in stable condition. The incident has heightened fears within the Jewish community, which feels increasingly vulnerable amid a rise in antisemitic attacks in the UK.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has vowed to enhance security for Jewish communities, while the UK’s terror threat level has been raised to severe. The government has allocated an additional £25 million to protect synagogues and community centers.

The situation has drawn criticism towards the authorities for their handling of antisemitism and related incidents.
