UK to Introduce E-Visas for Nigerians from February 2026

The United Kingdom will implement a significant change in its visa process for Nigerian travelers by replacing traditional physical visa stickers with electronic visas (e-visas) starting February 25, 2026. This transition was announced by the British High Commission (BHC) and marks a notable step towards modernizing the UK's visa application procedures.

The new e-visa system will allow Nigerian passport holders to access their visas electronically through a UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) account, streamlining the travel experience. The BHC emphasized that this move signifies a modernization of the UK’s visa process, enhancing accessibility and efficiency for Nigerian travelers.
