Umahi Demands Autopsy After Aide's Mysterious Death

David Umahi, the Minister of Works, has publicly addressed the death of his aide, Mari Habila, demanding an autopsy and a thorough police investigation to establish the cause of her death. Habila, who served as a nurse and had been with Umahi for three years, reportedly experienced health challenges and received treatment in a Turkish hospital, with medical expenses disclosed to be 2.2 million naira.

Umahi recounted that Habila had complained of a nosebleed shortly before her death and had sought immediate medical attention. After failing to reach her, her boyfriend found her deceased in the bathroom.

Umahi criticized the politicization of her death and defended the medical staff assigned to her, asserting that there was no basis for allegations against them. Habila's family initially objected to the autopsy on cultural grounds but later insisted on it through their lawyer.

Umahi urged the family to cooperate with the investigation to determine the actual cause of death.
