Umahi Denies Sexual Harassment and Debt Allegations

David Umahi, the current governor of Ebonyi State, has publicly denied allegations of sexual harassment and claims of a ₦200 million debt owed to a businesswoman named Ohiri. These allegations are reportedly connected to promotional materials supplied during Umahi's 2014 governorship campaign.

Speaking on Saturday while inspecting ongoing work on the Onitsha-Awka-Enugu expressway, Umahi dismissed the claims as baseless and a distraction from his duties. He emphasized that the matter is already being challenged in court and insisted that he remains focused on his responsibilities despite the ongoing attacks against him.

Umahi expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on the expressway and urged contractors to accelerate their efforts to meet the agreed deadlines, particularly as the rainy season approaches.
