Umahi Calls for EFCC, ICPC Probe into Works Ministry

On Wednesday, David Umahi, the Minister of Works, publicly invited the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to probe the Ministry of Works regarding ongoing projects and contracts. This invitation aims to ensure transparency and accountability within the ministry.

Umahi stated that there is nothing to hide and urged journalists to verify information regarding incomplete road projects that are affecting citizens' daily lives. He noted that the ICPC's preliminary report is ready, and the EFCC's findings are awaited.

Umahi reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to following due process in project execution and emphasized the importance of adhering to procurement rules. He also praised President Bola Tinubu for prioritizing infrastructure development, indicating that the ministry's projects are designed to withstand scrutiny over time.
