Umahi Urges Southeast to Support Tinubu in 2027 Election

On Friday, David Umahi, the Minister of Works, called on the people of the Southeast to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, citing what he termed “unprecedented” federal attention to the region. During an inspection of the Ebonyi section of the Cross River–Abuja Super Highway, Umahi stated that Ebonyi has greatly benefited from Tinubu’s administration through strategic investments in road infrastructure.

He emphasized the importance of supporting Tinubu, noting that ongoing projects are enhancing connectivity and creating jobs. Umahi mentioned that Section One of the highway, covering 125 kilometers, is nearing completion, with significant portions passing through Ebonyi.

He also defended the government's borrowing for infrastructure development, asserting that it is aimed at long-term benefits rather than immediate expenses. Furthermore, he urged Southeast leaders to adopt strategic politics, acknowledging that the region cannot solely produce a president.
