Umahi Urges South-east to Judge Tinubu by Development

On Saturday, Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, called on the South-east residents to assess President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration based on tangible infrastructure developments rather than political sentiments and social media narratives. During an inspection of ongoing road construction in Imo State, Umahi noted the restoration of over 20 kilometres of a 65-kilometre road and the planned removal of a 60-metre mountain, which he stated was necessary for improving safety and connectivity.

He emphasized that the quality of the road work surpassed that of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. Umahi argued that such visible projects should be the basis for evaluating government performance, countering claims of marginalization.

He acknowledged the right to differing political opinions but stressed that these should not lead to hate speech or personal attacks. Umahi also commended Dangote Group and High Tech for their support of the road project, which would enhance connectivity and economic activities in the region.
