Umohette Claims 20th Win, Praises Joshua and Itauma

Enobong “The Nigerian Gentleman” Umohette, the current IBA Continental heavyweight champion, achieved his 20th career victory by unanimous decision over former WBL heavyweight champion Fidel “Infierno” Munoz in an eight-round contest at the Santa Marta Sports Complex in Colombia. Umohette defended his UBC South American regional title during this match, which took place penultimate weekend.

The fight was characterized as tactical, with Munoz attempting to use lateral movement, but Umohette effectively controlled the center of the ring and scored consistently. All three judges scored the fight in favor of Umohette.

Following the match, Umohette expressed gratitude to God, his family, promoter Erik Fleming, co-promoter Chief Monte Ekott, and his supporters in Nigeria and the USA. He also congratulated Anthony Joshua on his knockout victory over Kristen Prenga and praised Moses Itauma for his impressive rise in boxing, noting Itauma's potential to capture a world heavyweight title.
