Itauma vs Hrgovic for Vacant IBF Heavyweight Title

British heavyweight boxer Moses Itauma's upcoming fight against Filip Hrgovic on 29 August has been upgraded to a title bout for the vacant IBF heavyweight championship. Itauma, 21, boasts an impressive record of 12 knockouts in 14 professional fights and is viewed as a rising star in the sport.

Promoter Frank Warren of Queensberry Promotions confirmed that the fight will take place at the O2 Arena in London. Warren expressed confidence in Itauma's abilities, stating that he has high expectations for the young fighter.

If victorious, Itauma would become the youngest heavyweight champion since Mike Tyson. Initially, Itauma was set to negotiate with Cuban boxer Frank Sanchez for the title but Sanchez has agreed to step aside to face the winner of the Itauma-Hrgovic bout.

Itauma recently achieved a fifth-round stoppage against Jermaine Franklin and a first-round stoppage of Dillian Whyte. Hrgovic, a 2016 Olympic bronze medalist, has won 20 professional fights, including a third-round stoppage of Dave Allen in May.
