Billionaire Arthur Eze Accuses Senegal of Unjustly Targeting His Business, Suspends Investments

Billionaire Arthur Eze, a prominent oil magnate, has accused Senegal of unjustly targeting his business interests following the revocation of an oil mining deal. Eze's company, Oranto Group, which is a leading indigenous player in hydrocarbon exploration across Africa with investments exceeding $500 million, has decided to suspend further investments in Senegal.

Senegalese authorities demanded a $25 million bank guarantee, leading to the decision to halt investment activities in St. Louis and Cayar offshore licenses.

Oranto Petroleum, a subsidiary of Oranto Group, has already committed $45 million to operations in Senegal. The group describes Senegal's actions as unfair and deliberate targeting, urging investors to disregard misleading narratives that could undermine confidence in African investment destinations.
