Omokri Defends Tinubu's Absence at UNGA 2025, Challenges Critics on Economic Benefits

Former aide to Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, defended President Bola Tinubu's absence at the 2025 United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, stating that critics of Tinubu's absence are easily manipulated. Omokri highlighted that attending UNGA does not necessarily benefit Nigeria's economy, citing the example of late President Muhammadu Buhari's attendance without significant economic gains.

Omokri challenged critics to identify the economic benefits of Buhari's UNGA visits. He also clarified that Tinubu attended the 78th UNGA in 2023 despite travel restrictions to the US.
