UniAbuja Appoints Udeozor, Ndagi as Deputy VCs

The Governing Council of the University of Abuja has ratified the appointments of Professor Rosemari Udeozor and Muhammad Umar Ndagi as Deputy Vice Chancellors during its 82nd extraordinary meeting held on Friday, February 13, 2026. Professor Udeozor, who specializes in educational administration, holds a BA Ed (1986), M.Ed (1988), and PhD (1995) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and joined the University of Abuja in 1995, becoming a professor in 2009.

Muhammad Umar Ndagi, an expert in Arabic linguistics, holds a B.Ed in Islamic Studies and a PhD in Arabic from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and has a master's degree from the International Institute of Arabic Language in Khartoum, Sudan. The appointments were confirmed following a recommendation from the Vice Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, and will be effective for a period of two years in accordance with the university's extant laws.

Both Udeozor and Ndagi pledged to support the strategic direction of the university and work closely with the Vice Chancellor to ensure a harmonious and productive academic environment.
