UNICEF and Borno State Achieve 44% Increase in Child Vaccination Uptake

In Borno State, UNICEF and the Government of Canada announced a significant 44% increase in routine immunization uptake for zero-dose children. Dr.

Muhammad Arab of the Borno State Primary Healthcare Development Board credited the success to sustained sensitization campaigns led by trained youth advocates. The campaign, which reached 900,000 individuals through various channels, surpassed its initial 25% target.

UNICEF health specialist Hassan Malgwi praised the youth-led advocacy model for its resilience and commitment to promoting trust in vaccines.
