UNICEF, EU Provide Medical Equipment to Adamawa Health Sector

UNICEF, in collaboration with the European Union through the EU-SARAH project, has delivered medical equipment valued at millions of Naira to the Adamawa State Government. This equipment is intended for distribution to primary health clinics across the state, with the goal of bolstering the health sector and safeguarding citizens' lives amid ongoing challenges.

At the handover event in Yola on Wednesday, UNICEF Health Specialist Mr. Seyi Olusandi reaffirmed UNICEF's commitment to working alongside the Adamawa State Government and other stakeholders to improve the health sector. He emphasized that this initiative would enhance healthcare quality, particularly at the primary level.

Pharmacist Mathias Zira, representing the Adamawa State Commissioner of Health, praised UNICEF and its partners for their ongoing support, noting the timely nature of the intervention. Dr. Bashir Saidu Bashir, Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency (ADSPHCDA), urged healthcare centers to utilize the equipment effectively to help reduce maternal mortality rates and improve healthcare delivery.
