UNILAG Alumni Urge English Graduates to Adapt Careers

During the maiden reunion of the University of Lagos English Alumni Association, alumni challenged English graduates to reinvent themselves for future careers. Dr. Jekwu Ozoemen, a speaker at the event, encouraged graduates to embrace lifelong learning and adapt to the evolving job market, stressing that a first degree does not limit professional paths.

The reunion, held at Babalola Hall, featured discussions on career development and the relevance of English studies in a changing global workplace. Ozoemen highlighted the importance of grit, discipline, and perseverance, noting that significant personal sacrifices often lead to success.

Veteran actress Joke Silva urged graduates not to view teaching as a second-choice profession but to seize opportunities confidently. Vice Chancellor Professor Folasade Ogunsola represented the university and emphasized the need for the academic community to prioritize safety and student well-being.
