UNILAG Alumni Urge Graduates to Embrace Lifelong Learning

During the maiden reunion of the UNILAG English Alumni at the University of Lagos, Dr. Jekwu Ozoemen, an executive at an alternative bank, urged graduates to embrace lifelong learning and career adaptability. He delivered a lecture themed "Unlock Global Opportunities in English Studies," emphasizing that a first degree does not limit career paths.

Ozoemen stated that one's starting point does not determine their destiny, but rather the willingness to learn and adapt. He highlighted the increasing relevance of English studies in an AI-driven job market.

Actress Joke Silva also spoke at the event, advising English graduates not to view teaching as a fallback career but to pursue it confidently. Professor Tund Davi reflected on his academic journey and the importance of perseverance.

The event was represented by Professor Folasade Ogunsola, who called for prioritizing safety and well-being within the university community.
