UNILORIN's Abdulafeez Abdulsemiu Achieves Top CGPA

Abdulafeez Abdulsemiu, a graduate of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Ilorin, has been recognized as the Overall Best Graduating Student of the Faculty of Engineering, graduating with an impressive cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.91. He announced this achievement on LinkedIn in October 2026, expressing deep gratitude to God, his institution, his mentor, and his family.

Abdulsemiu particularly acknowledged Dr A. O. Otuoze, his Head of Department, level adviser, project supervisor, and personal guide, stating that Dr Otuoze played a crucial role in his academic journey.

He also honored his late grandfather, who believed in him, wishing he could witness this milestone. In his message to young people from humble backgrounds, Abdulsemiu encouraged perseverance, stating, "You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great."
