UNIMAID VC Encourages New Students on Discipline and Resilience

During the matriculation ceremony held on Wednesday, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Mohammed Laminu Mele, addressed newly admitted students, emphasizing the importance of hard work and discipline. He noted that the university has faced significant challenges over the years, including the impact of insurgency and limited funding, yet it remains resilient.

Mele expressed hope that the new students would demonstrate courage and determination for the future of their community and the nation. The matriculation welcomed a total of 6,553 new candidates distributed across various faculties, including 531 in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, 234 in the Faculty of Agriculture, 115 in the Faculty of Arts, and 969 in the Faculty of Education, among others.

This diverse enrollment reflects the university's ongoing commitment to education despite the difficulties it faces.
