ATBU VC Warns New Students Against Cultism and Drugs

During the matriculation ceremony at Yelwa Campus on Friday, Prof. Ibrahim Hassan Garba, the Vice Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), addressed 4,355 newly matriculated students.

He warned them against engaging in cultism, hard drugs, and examination malpractices, emphasizing that such behaviors could ruin their futures. The students represent various faculties, including 231 from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, 388 from the College of Medical Sciences, 526 from the Faculty of Computer Science, 933 from the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technology, 726 from the Faculty of Environmental Technology, 356 from the Faculty of Management Sciences, 800 from the Faculty of Science, and 107 from the Faculty of Technology Education.

Prof. Garba urged students to familiarize themselves with the student handbook and adhere to university regulations to avoid sanctions.

He encouraged them to focus on their studies and utilize the university's resources to achieve academic success.
