NUT Urges Govts to Improve Teachers' Welfare for Quality Education

The National President of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Comrade Audu Titus Amba, urged the federal and state governments to enhance teachers' welfare to improve the quality of education. Comrade Amba emphasized the importance of implementing approved teacher welfare packages to attract and retain quality educators.

He highlighted the growing teacher shortage in Nigeria and called for increased funding for the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) to maintain professionalism in the teaching profession. Additionally, he appealed to the Edo State government to reconsider its decision regarding school management and urged defaulting states to prioritize teacher welfare.
