Union Bank Empowers 98 Women Entrepreneurs in Nigeria

Union Bank of Nigeria’s Alpher initiative has partnered with Zuri Circle Network (ZCN) to empower 98 female entrepreneurs through the Fearless Female Founders (FFF) 2.0 Accelerator programme. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between women-led businesses and access to capital, business knowledge, mentorship, and opportunities for sustainable growth.

The programme received 2,810 applications, with 98 founders selected after a rigorous screening process that included business verification and compliance checks. Union Bank also awarded grants to five women-led businesses that won the final pitch presentation.

The programme focuses on structured capacity building, mentorship, and access to funding opportunities, ensuring selected entrepreneurs demonstrate strong potential for sustainable growth. The cohort represents a diverse range of sectors, including agriculture, fashion, food production, technology, manufacturing, retail, and professional services.

Vivian Imoh-Itah, head of Retail Banking at Union Bank, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs with the necessary tools, networks, knowledge, and financial access for building sustainable businesses.
