University of Ilorin Christian Union to Celebrate 50 Years

The University of Ilorin Christian Union will celebrate its 50th anniversary from November 22 to 29, 2026. This week-long celebration will commemorate five decades of the union's existence, growth, and Christian evangelism.

Olusegun Omotayo, the Chairman of the 50th Anniversary Committee, stated that the union began in 1976 as a small evangelical fellowship and has since evolved into a significant platform for spreading the gospel. Omotayo attributed the union's growth to God's faithfulness and grace, describing the golden jubilee as a celebration of God's enduring presence.

The anniversary theme, inspired by Haggai 2:9, reflects expectations for greater spiritual awakening within the university community. Omotayo emphasized that the anniversary is an opportunity to renew dedication to the union's spiritual mission and to strengthen relationships with God.

The celebration, tagged UCU@50, aims to reflect on the union's achievements while preparing for greater impact in Christian evangelism.
