SSASCGOC Urges NLC to Respect Court Order in Union Jurisdiction Dispute

The Senior Staff Association of Statutory Corporations and Government Owned Companies (SSASCGOC) has issued a statement advising the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) to adhere to a court ruling concerning a dispute over union jurisdiction at the Industrial Training Fund (ITF). The court of appeal recently upheld a decision that places employees above grade level 07 under the exclusive jurisdiction of SSASCGOC, limiting NLC's involvement to junior staff below grade level 06.

SSASCGOC accuses NLC of promoting unlawful labor practices on behalf of its affiliates and calls for compliance with the court's directive. The association emphasizes its commitment to legal processes and criticizes alleged lobbying efforts by another union, urging the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment to refrain from intervening in the matter.

SSASCGOC emphasizes the importance of operating within legal frameworks and warns against actions that could disrupt labor harmony and economic activities.
