FG Calls for Unity Against Terrorism in Nigeria

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through Minister Maham Idri, has launched a campaign titled #UniteAgainstTerror, urging citizens, media, and security agencies to unite against terrorism. Idri emphasized that terrorism transcends political, ethnic, and religious lines, and called for collective action to combat violent extremism.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains fully committed to national security and the safe return of abducted schoolchildren and teachers from recent attacks in Oyo and Borno States. The government is intensifying intelligence gathering and surveillance operations to rescue victims and bring perpetrators to justice.

Recent military operations have reportedly neutralized 50 terrorists and dismantled criminal camps across various regions. The Minister also highlighted a significant judicial breakthrough in counter-terrorism efforts, with hundreds of terror suspects currently undergoing trial, marking the largest terror prosecution exercise in Nigeria's history.

The government urges the media to report responsibly on terrorism to avoid amplifying the terrorists' psychological impact.
