Governor Abba Yusuf Critiques Politicization of Insecurity

During a conference organized by the Nigerian Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Tuesday, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf accused certain individuals of politicizing Nigeria's worsening security situation for personal gain. He expressed concern over unpatriotic actions that undermine collective efforts to combat insecurity, particularly those affecting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration.

Governor Yusuf noted that Kano State continues to face significant security challenges, including gang rivalries and phone snatching. He emphasized the importance of joint efforts between the government and citizens to address these grave security threats.

Recent bandit attacks in the Tsanyawa, Shanono, and Gharri local government areas prompted the state administration to take swift action against these security threats. Governor Yusuf stated that the state government is collaborating closely with security agencies, including the military, police, and the Department of State Services (DSS), to tackle terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping-related crimes.
