Urhobo Rulers Endorse Sheriff Oborevwori for 2027 Election

The leadership of Urhobo traditional rulers, under Ukoko R’ Ivie R’ Urhobo, endorsed Delta State Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for re-election in the 2027 general election. The Chairman, HRM Dr. Emmanuel Sideso, stated their support is based on the need to address political stability issues.

He expressed concerns over rising political tension and thuggery in Urhobo land, urging candidates to prioritize peace and unity. The royal fathers convened a meeting with governorship candidates to promote restraint and brotherhood.

They declared Oborevwori as the sole candidate for the Urhobo nation, citing his significant contributions to Delta State's development. Sideso emphasized the importance of unity among the Urhobo people, advocating for collective voting to avoid division.

He acknowledged the constitutional rights of all Urhobo individuals to aspire for political office but stressed that such ambitions should not undermine the collective interest of the Urhobo nation.
