Afenifere Diaspora USA has publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu regarding the escalating insecurity in Nigeria, particularly referencing recent violent incidents attributed to terrorist groups such as the Islamic State West Africa Province and Ansaru. In a statement dated March 20, 2026, the group expressed alarm over the deteriorating security situation, which they described as a failure of the government to uphold its constitutional responsibility to protect lives and property.

They noted that thousands have been displaced due to violence, which they equated to acts of genocide and ethnic cleansing. Furthermore, Afenifere Diaspora USA condemned the National Assembly's moves to alter electoral laws, particularly the proposal to remove the requirement for presidential candidates to possess a secondary school certificate, warning that such changes could weaken democratic standards and the quality of leadership.
