US Alumni Association Hosts Networking Event in Abuja with 300 Alumni in Attendance

The US Government Exchange Alumni Association Nigeria, Abuja Chapter, organized a networking event in Abuja, attended by 300 alumni of US government-sponsored exchange programs. The event, held at the National Assembly Library Complex, provided a platform for alumni to reconnect, network, and exchange views on a wide range of social development issues.

The association's Public Relations Officer, Daniel Iwuchukwu, emphasized the enduring impact of the exchange programs in advancing projects aligned with American values like democracy and civic responsibility across Nigeria's public, private, and civic sectors. Representatives from the US Embassy and the Nigeria-United States Parliamentary Friendship Group were present.

The event featured the launch of the "Freedom 250" initiative to showcase American values and strengthen democratic institutions. Dr.

Nosayaba Tukura, President of the association, stressed the need for coordinated alumni action to translate exchange experiences into measurable national impact. Akin Rotimi, Chairman of the Abuja Chapter, commended the strong turnout and outlined the chapter's 2026 work plan focusing on enhancing collaboration and scaling community impact.
