U.S. Names 124 Nigerians for Deportation Over Crimes

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced on Wednesday the release of names and photographs of 124 Nigerians who are to be deported for committing what the DHS describes as "the worst of the worst" crimes.

This disclosure is part of ongoing immigration enforcement efforts, emphasizing the removal of undocumented immigrants with criminal records. The list includes individuals such as Sundai Adediora, Sundai Kunkushi, and Mkpouto Etukudoh, among others.

The DHS statement highlighted the commitment of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to fulfill President Trump's promise to carry out mass deportations, starting with those deemed to have committed serious offenses.

The announcement follows increased scrutiny of Nigerian citizens by the Trump administration, which imposed partial visa restrictions in June due to concerns over information sharing and visa overstays. The crackdown reflects the administration's broader immigration agenda as it prepares for a potential return to office in January 2025.
