House Appropriations Committee could enhance security cooperation between Nigeria and the United States. Submitted to the White House on Monday, the report outlines significant security challenges in Nigeria, including terrorism, banditry, and communal conflicts.

Idris emphasized the government's commitment to protecting all Nigerians, regardless of their religion or region, acknowledging the serious security threats facing the country. He expressed deep concern over the loss of lives and property due to criminal acts and extended sympathies to the victims' families.

The Nigerian government does not endorse state policies that lead to religious persecution and is addressing complex security threats through enhanced military operations and intelligence sharing. The report follows U.S. actions, including the designation of Nigeria as a country of particular concern under the International Religious Freedom Act and discussions on potential sanctions.
