Cleric Urges Leaders to Use Nigeria's Resources Wisely

During the Eid sermon at Grammar School, Ojodu Berger, Lagos, on Friday, Sheikh Sulaiman Onikijipa, the fourth Grand Mufti and Islamic jurist from Ilorin, called on Nigerian political leaders to utilize the nation's resources judiciously. He stressed that responsible management of resources is crucial for achieving sustainable growth and national progress.

Onikijipa highlighted the need for transparency and prudent spending, ensuring that the benefits of resource allocation reach the people. He referenced the Holy Quran, emphasizing that the resources of Nigeria, including revenue, should be spent wisely for the benefit of all citizens.

Additionally, he discussed the significance of Ramadan, explaining that the month-long fast serves to remind Muslims of their duties to Allah and encourages restraint and compassion towards others. He urged Nigerians to continue supporting the government through prayer for a turnaround in the country’s fortunes.
