APP Condemns Governor Uzodinma for Violence Against Citizens

Supporters of the Action Peoples Party (APP) in Imo State have publicly condemned Governor Hope Uzodinma for the alleged use of live ammunition against unarmed citizens. This incident reportedly occurred during an attack at Christ Anglican Church in Ideato South Local Government Area, coinciding with the unveiling of a federal constituency office.

APP spokesperson Steve Nnadi issued a statement on Friday, highlighting that the deployment of masked security operatives armed with live ammunition and tear gas against unarmed constituents is barbaric. The party noted that such incidents have become recurrent since Uzodinma took office on January 15, 2020.

They called on citizens both at home and in the diaspora to voice their condemnation of these actions, which they believe perpetuate social unrest. The APP urged President Bola Tinubu, the state elder council, and the state house assembly to intervene and hold Governor Uzodinma accountable for these actions.
