Davido Blasts Erigga Over Wealth Debate in Music Industry

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, known as Davido, publicly criticized rapper Erhiga Agarivbie, known as Erigga, following a disagreement about the recognition of musicians based on their financial backgrounds. The dispute began when Erigga posted on his 𝕏 account, commending musicians who did not come from wealthy families and had to work hard for their success.

He stated, “Shoutout to all the musicians who don’t come from family money and had to grind for every single dollar they earn.” In response, Davido argued that artists who grew up with financial support should also be acknowledged for their efforts in building successful careers. He emphasized that coming from a wealthy family does not negate the hard work required to succeed in the entertainment industry.

Davido's response included strong language, stating, “Comot here with that your useless motivation … imbecile,” and he expressed his intention to focus on making money, suggesting that he would leave music behind if it became uninteresting.
