ADC Accuses APC Governors of Misusing FAAC Funds

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors for allegedly diverting funds from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) to finance Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election campaign. In a statement issued on Tuesday, ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi claimed that around 800 billion naira had been raised through deductions from FAAC allocations for political purposes.

The ADC described this action as criminal, shameless, and cruel, especially amid worsening economic conditions in Nigeria. They argued that despite record allocations to states following the removal of fuel subsidies and currency devaluation, living conditions have not improved, with citizens facing inflation, insecurity, unemployment, and rising poverty.

The ADC called for an independent investigation into these allegations, emphasizing that Nigerians deserve to know whether state and local government funds are being diverted for partisan political purposes.
