Veteran Broadcaster Urges Students on Discipline for Success

Eugenia Abu, a veteran broadcaster and former Executive Director of Programs at the Nigerian Television Authority, delivered a special public lecture at the Federal University Lokoja on Thursday. The lecture, titled "Campus Career Design: The Future You Want," focused on the critical role of discipline and good character in achieving career success.

Abu urged students to cultivate time discipline and avoid destructive behaviors, including drug abuse and excessive social media engagement. She emphasized that no higher institution awards certificates without proof of character and encouraged students to respect their parents and remain focused on their studies.

Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibiley, the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, welcomed Abu and highlighted her inspirational career in media. He encouraged students to identify their unique talents and pursue them rather than chasing multiple career options without direction.

The event marked the first public lecture of the administration and aimed to inspire students in their academic and professional journeys.
