ADC Criticizes Wike for Interference in FCT Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) condemned Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for what they termed as "vexatious and meddlesome" interference in the ongoing area council elections in Abuja. In a statement signed by Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC criticized Wike's movement around various polling units, asserting that his actions amounted to direct interference in the electoral process.

The party argued that Wike, being a known partisan figure, has no constitutional role in conducting elections in a state where he is not a registered voter. They expressed concerns that his presence at polling units posed a risk of voter intimidation and could disrupt the independence of the electoral process overseen by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The ADC called for calm among its agents and urged them to document any irregularities observed during the elections.
