ADC Condemns Wike's Remarks on FCT Council Polls

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has publicly condemned statements made by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, regarding the upcoming council elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). ADC's spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi, described Wike's remarks as a declaration of war against anti-Bola Tinubu candidates, labeling them as reckless and inflammatory.

The ADC emphasized that such rhetoric could deepen political tensions and undermine democratic stability in Nigeria, especially during a time of unprecedented economic hardship and insecurity. They asserted that the outcome of the elections scheduled for February 21, 2026, should be determined by the Nigerian people, not by the minister's attempts to intimidate voters.

The ADC vowed to resist any efforts to subvert the will of the electorate, highlighting the importance of maintaining democratic integrity in the current fragile political atmosphere.
