Victim's Resistance Leads to Kidnapper's Arrest in Ondo

On April 10, 2026, a kidnapping incident was reported to the Isua Division Headquarters in Ondo State by a resident named Ahmadu, who noted that two young men had failed to return home after going to rear cattle in Ipesi Akoko. The Ondo State Police Command initiated an intelligence-driven operation that successfully rescued the kidnapped victim.

According to police spokesperson Abayomi Jimoh, the victim fought back against three armed men during the abduction, inflicting head injuries on one of the captors. This act of resistance proved crucial in tracking down the suspect.

The police launched a targeted search based on credible intelligence and arrested a suspicious individual at Obasanjo Motor Park in Isua, who bore visible injuries consistent with the victim's account. The suspect later confessed to being part of the kidnapping gang.
